About Us

Tucson Cold Wet Noses is a non-profit dog rescue and adoption organization founded by a group of local dog lovers whose goal is to rescue dogs from the local pound (Pima Animal Care Center or PACC) and find them their perfect homes through successful adoptions.

Our ultimate goal is to have successful adoptions, a perfect match between the dog and its new owner. All of our dogs live inside with outside access for play and "business". We do not allow our dogs to be adopted out as "yard dogs".

Before you go to a backyard breeder or pet store,
try adoption!

The adoption of a Tucson Cold Wet Noses foster dog ensures that your new companion is already spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and usually housetrained. We provide a 3 day trial period with each adoption. So the adoption is not a perfect match, you can return the dog, no questions asked. We never want one of our recue dogs to even end up back at Pima Animal Care Center (PACC). So we will always accept back a returned dog. We are confident that the perfect home can be found for each of our rescue dogs. Some of our dogs are special needs in that they may have a health issue such as valley fever or a behavioral issue such as being wary of men; these dogs are still highly adoptable and we disclose as much information as we know about each dog. We encourage taking training and obedience classes with your new dog to help foster a strong bond between owner and dog as well as to establish and reinforce good behaviors. We have vets in town who help us by offering reduced rates. We thank Dr. Mueller at Broadway Animal Hospital and Dr. Samuels at Central Animal Hospital and Cmino Seco Pet Clinic for their assistance in our mission.

Tucson Cold Wet Noses pays our dogs' bills through our adoption fees and donations. So if you would like to give rescue mixed breed dog a second chance by making him or her part of your family, please have a look at our website. And if you would like to make a donation or help by fostering, we thank you for being part of our mission too.

Adopt a rescue dog today!

By fostering rescue dogs in our homes, the fosters of Tucson Cold Wet Noses get to know each dog’s personality, likes, dislikes, and little quirks so you don't go home with a cat chaser if you have 10 cats at home, or an ankle biter if you babysit your grandchildren every day! Fostering our rescue dogs helps to ensure a successful adoption based on your lifestyle and situation. A successful adoption is a perfect match for both the new family and the dog.

Let a senior rescue dog be your perfect match! Adoption is the second chance they need and they have no shortage of unconditional love.

A senior rescue dog is often the perfect low maintenance companion, especially for a senior person. Adopting a senior pet can be immensely satisfying. They have just as much love to give as a younger dog but with better manners and moderate energy. Many of these dogs are pure bred dogs and originally came from a pet store or an irresponsible backyard breeder. Most puppy mills and backyard breeders who sell to pet stores or via the internet think of their dogs as disposable; if the dogs are lucky they will be sent to a rescue, such as Tucson Cold Wet Noses, when they are done being used. The adoption of one of these dogs in need can be a truly rewarding experience.

We at Tucson Cold Wet Noses can't do it without you!

We're sorry, but we are no longer accepting pets.
